Summary:The aim of this research is to investigate the healing elements in inpatient room at palliative care that can influence and is indeed part of the important mandate in the patient’s quality of life. There are two research objectives of this study, firstly to identify the user’s feedback towards healing elements at palliative care and secondly, to investigate the elements of healing in the inpatient room of palliative care. This research is been conduct at Hospis Malaysia that located at Taman Sri Bahtera, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. This research employed two-research methodology to respond to the research objectives. The first research objective employed questionnaire survey to identify the user’s feedback towards healing elements in the inpatient room. Forty-eight respondents took part in this questionnaire survey. On the other hand, on-site observation was carried out in order to investigate the elements of healing in the inpatient room at palliative care. Finding from the research reveals the user’s feedback on healing elements; nature, pattern and color, water presence, natural light and materials, also provide at the palliative care are average, which did not fully implemented and still lacking of application the aspect of healing elements. For specific purposes, the healing elements of the inpatient space are still fair, lack in execution that they should give importance to these aspects; especially the water presence and the usage of materials, which is score least. The further study would enable the researcher to identify the best solutions and technique in the hospice inpatient room to facilitate the application of healing elements.
