| Summary: | The issue of awareness toward zakat payment still in the low bottom. This would happen because of the perception and understanding among muslim where they though the zakat fitrah is only the zakat that they obligated to pay. This awareness can be enhanced if the adoption of da'wah and tarbiyyah is updated, legal action against the refusal to pay zakat is imposed and the confidence of the chargeable group to pay zakat institutions can be improved. Hence, some of these groups have various reasons not to pay zakat and some other person pay not belong to government official channels. This condition should not occur because the refusal paying zakat means taking of the rights of others in its production. This amount collection will help to ensure the social security goals of Muslims in Malaysia can be enhanced. The question is why there are still many Muslims who have not fulfilled this claim. What are the factors that determine it and what steps should be taken by zakat institutions to raise this awareness. Hence, studies have been made based on online survey-google form to identify factors that influence the payment of zakat among society. Based on this research, the researcher found that the major factor of lack awareness among residents in Telok Panglima Garang was lack of religious knowledge and lack of campaign against Zakat payment. Hence, government should increase the campaign of zakat payment through Electronic Media and increase the amount of Programs or Islamic Classes on Zakat knowledge to improve the level of awareness towards Zakat payment among resident in Telok Panglima Garang, Selangor. |
