Summary:Fresh graduate bankruptcy became part of common issues among generation Y, and bankruptcy has become an obstacle among fresh graduate from advancing in terms of careers. Gen Ys who borrow for homes, cars and other items have contributed to heavy household burdens. Bad debts at Malaysia banks are still low, but there's been a notable increase in the number of people under age 35 who have declared bankruptcy. The aim of this study is to determine factors of bankruptcy among youth in Wangsa Maju. Quantitative research is adopted in this study. Questionnaires are distributed to 150 respondents among 15 years old to 45 years old. The results show positive possibility that these factors are related to bankruptcy. The young generation should identify causes that have potential to make them bankrupt so they can avoid it. This research is only focusing towards three factors that leads to bankruptcy among young generation such as knowledge, debt management, and lifestyle. Recommendations for the young generation are they can attend seminar or classes about financial planning and list the priority and make it suitable with their finances.
