Summary:The purpose of study is to gain the acceptance towards new music with two different of combinations genres towards student. For this study, the case study that has been chosen for the thesis was a song from Butterfingers entitled 'Epitome'. This song was composed by Khairil Ridzwan Anuar or known as Loque. He was the guitarist and the band leader in Butterfingers. This song has the combination of grunge music and Javanese scale. Javanese scale has two groups which is slendro and pelog. This study was conducted to know whether this song 'Epitome' can deliver the effectiveness towards the combinations of Javanese sound and grunge music. Though, towards getting the result in this research, questionnaire has been conducted towards music student.
