Summary:Tourism development activities like coastal development, construction and mangrove deforestation not only has a positive impact on the local economy. However, also adversely affects changes in education, income, social participation, and infrastructure. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the impact of tourism development on social and economic elements toward residents at Kampung Seberang Ramai, Perlis. The objective of this study is (i) to examine socioeconomic status toward local community at Kampung Seberang Ramai using questionnaire approach, (ii) to determine LULC due to tourism development in years 2004 and 2020 using google earth, and (iii) to validate the accuracy land use land cover and socio-economic status of Kampung Seberang Ramai. The questionnaires were answered by 260 respondents through google form and hand to hand answers. Then, socioeconomic data been analyze using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Wilcoxon, Kruskal-Wallis, and Mann-Whitney U test using SPSS software. Next, digitizing process for image in year 2004 and 2020from Google Earth Pro using ArcGIS software. The result reveals there are significant different in age, education level and income changes among residents. However, the result also show not significant different in gender, race, household and occupation change among resident at Kampung Seberang Ramai. The most significant changes inland use are built-up area was increased by 3.8 hectares including houses and shops which is from 659 buildings to 1,156 buildings from 2004 to 2020. The output of this study is beneficial for planning and making strategies to improve resident’s lifestyle, health, income, and future planning development at Kampung Seberang Ramai.
