Charities. Endowments (HEIs) students on education loan. Since the existence of National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) fund in 1997 and a reduction of government scholarship, HEIs students highly mainly focus on the fund, which can be cumbersome to the students in the future. The problem arises as many of HEIs students cannot afford to pay for the loan upon graduation. Realizing the need for another fund besides education loan and scholarship, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has implemented its own education waqf fund to assist the students and the Muslim society as a whole. Even though the university has implemented its own education waqf fund, there has been lack of research done in investigating the willingness of the alumni, as potential contributors to contribute for the fund. This research is aimed at examining the antecedents of philanthropic behaviour among university alumni in contributing for the education waqf fund. The university selected for the research was UiTM. The philanthropic behaviour analysed is in terms of intention, motivation and commitment of the alumni, with the application of three theories namely Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), Expectancy Theory and Investment Model. This research is significant in a few ways; as a reference to students as well as other readers, assists ICAN to improve alumni engagement in activities held by the university, a cornerstone for UiTM to enhance education waqf fund implementation, significant to the government in developing HEIs education waqf fund and benefits Muslim society as a whole in many areas. With the application of G*Power analysis, the suitable number of respondents were obtained. For the purpose of overall analysis of data, the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was meticulously utilized, while SPSS 20.0 was used for descriptive analysis purpose. The findings of the research showed that ten hypotheses were supported, while five hypotheses were not supported. Further, the findings implied that the university alumni were motivated to contribute, but did not have intention and commitment to contribute for the education waqf fund. From the profiles of the fund contributor, this research also found that only 14.5 percent of the alumni involved in the contribution, while the other 85.5 percent did not. Based on the results obtained, this research has recommended a few methods to the university and the education waqf fund itself. This research is aimed at contributing for knowledge in terms of thorough discussion on philanthropy and philanthropic behaviour, waqf, theories of philanthropy applied, the conceptual framework derived from the theories and PLS-SEM application. Student engagement is one of the methods suggested to create a better relationship between the university and the alumni. The education waqf fund, on the other hand, should focus on the easiness of the donors to contribute, the appropriate individuals to manage the fund, and the implementation of laws that will enhance the fund implementation. At the end of this research, it is recommended for future researchers from other universities to replicate and validate the model introduced in this study to determine the robustness of the current findings. 2020-10 Thesis https://ir.uitm.edu.my/id/eprint/60679/ https://ir.uitm.edu.my/id/eprint/60679/1/60679.pdf text en public phd doctoral Universiti Teknologi MARA Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies Ab. (HEIs) students on education loan. Since the existence of National Higher Education
Fund Corporation (PTPTN) fund in 1997 and a reduction of government scholarship,
HEIs students highly mainly focus on the fund, which can be cumbersome to the
students in the future. The problem arises as many of HEIs students cannot afford to
pay for the loan upon graduation. Realizing the need for another fund besides
education loan and scholarship, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has
implemented its own education waqf fund to assist the students and the Muslim
society as a whole. Even though the university has implemented its own education
waqf fund, there has been lack of research done in investigating the willingness of
the alumni, as potential contributors to contribute for the fund. This research is aimed
at examining the antecedents of philanthropic behaviour among university alumni in
contributing for the education waqf fund. The university selected for the research was
UiTM. The philanthropic behaviour analysed is in terms of intention, motivation and

This research is aimed at contributing for knowledge in terms of thorough discussion
on philanthropy and philanthropic behaviour, waqf, theories of philanthropy applied,
the conceptual framework derived from the theories and PLS-SEM application.
Student engagement is one of the methods suggested to create a better relationship
between the university and the alumni. The education waqf fund, on the other hand,
should focus on the easiness of the donors to contribute, the appropriate individuals
to manage the fund, and the implementation of laws that will enhance the fund
