The objective of this work was to determine effect of domestic laundering and dry cleaning on the properties of batik silk fabric and to compare the effect of both laundering methods. The study indicated that one of the laundering give good effect than other. After 5 laundering cycles, the result for properties of fabric was not significant and could be acceptable. Both laundering resulted in fibre damage to silk fabric.
