Summary:The project is about design motivational learning for Down syndrome students in learning numbers. Down syndrome student are categorized as a special children that need special education to help them to be independent. Down syndrome students have poor auditory and memory skills. Difficulty in reading, lack of motivation, and need more time to finish a job compared to others is the character of children with special needs such as Down syndrome. This project is focuses on identify, gathering and analysts the factors that catch the attention of Down syndrome students in learning numbers. This project also determines the ability of Down syndrome students in recognizing and memorizing numbers. In this project, qualitative method is chosen by conducting the interview sessions with Ms. Ardinsoon Yusof, one of the teachers in Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation-Klang Centre. The interview session was conducted to gather and observed the requirement for Down syndrome students in learning numbers. This project focuses in the attention of Down syndrome student in learning numbers at age five to six years old. This project will provide a better learning design by understanding the needs of down syndrome students and help teachers to make a good and right decision to choose a method while teach down syndrome students in learning numbers. In addition, it will create the awareness of good learning design for children with learning disabilities.
