Summary:Orang Asli are one of the indigenous tribe among the many other ethnics living in Malaysia. Orang Asli in peninsular Malaysia consist of three main tribe which are Negrito, Senoi and also Proto Malay. With population of 141,230 people recorded in 2006, the Orang Asli community made up almost 0.5% from the total population in Malaysia. In Malaysia, there are no centralised knowledge repository based on ontology to share and store knowledge from these indigenous community. Orang Temuan indigenous language is only an oral language hence with no documentation, it is at risk to extinction. This study aims to identify the requirement in order to develop an ontology of Orang Temuan language where the focus group is identified at Kampung Orang Asli, Solok Terentang, Selandar, Melaka. Interview were done with the expert, which is the Tok Batin from Orang Temuan tribe. The scope of words selection has been set to only animal and plant kingdom from the main nature kingdom. The second objective of this study is to construct the ontology using a tool called Protege while the last goal of this paper is to develop a prototype of knowledge repository of Orang Temuan based on the ontology created by using HTML5, ASP.net and also MySQL as the database. This paper have managed to answer all the required intention of study purpose.
