Summary:This thesis is about a system of taking student's attendance using smart card. The user is the lecturer and the student. The student is going to submit the attendance. The attendance will then be recorded into the database and the lecturer is going to view it. Throughout the Chapter l is about the problem of the existing system, objective of the project, scope of the project and also the significance of the project. Smart card attendance system is going to be developed because of some problems that have arises like the dishonesty of students, lecturer forgot to bring attendance list, loss of attendance list and signing system cannot keep the actual time of students who attend to class. This system contains three of scopes. The first one is to design the student attendance system using crowdsourcing technique. The second one is to develop the smart card attendance system and the last one is to test the proposed system on user. Many benefits could gain from this project whether for lecturer or for student. Chapter 2 is the story about the reviewed papers like journals, conferences, and articles, books to develop the system. Chapter 3 is focus on how the system is going to be developed. The student flow in this system is: firstly, student needs to insert smart card into card reader. Second, the identification number (IC) will be compared with the database. Then, if the IC number is in the database, the student info will be displayed in the interface, else, the student is not belong to UiTM student. After that, the student needs to fill in some particulars like crowdsourcing picture and the course he/she wanted to attend. Finally, click submit button to record an attendance. For the lecturer, he/she needs to login first to gain privileged like viewing attendance and uploading picture to do crowdsourcing. Chapter 4 is concerning about the result and analysis of the system and lastly the Chapter 5 is about the conclusion and recommendation of the system.
