Summary:Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) introduced Green Card programme in the year 2000. The objective of this study is to identify its utilization and effectiveness as a tool to decrease accidents and increase the safety construction site. Green Card is an integrated programme containing registration and recognition of CIDB among construction personnel to ensure their safety on site after attended induction course and been given the certificate of Green Card with a safety helmet. The study around Klang Valley showed that most of the construction personnel had practiced the Green Card and said that it is good idea and an ideal programme because its provides sufficient knowledge about safety with affordable cost within reasonable course duration. Respondents who have taken Green Card Programmed agreed that there were improvements in teen of their safety on site and in the workers attitude toward safety. Findings from this study are parallel to the statistic of Industry accidents occurrence in the construction Industry as well as the whole ndustry after the Green Card was launched in the year 2000. From this study, it can be conclude that the Green Card is an effective programme to improve the safety condition in the construction site
