Summary:A study was conducted in order to evaluate the strategies that has been used in engaging public participation toward an solid waste management. Melaka state was selected for this study due to the imposition of Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Act 2007 (Act 672) on several states in Malaysia.The study used quantitative approaches in data analysis. Purposive sampling were used to obtain selected samples of local citizen from residence area within different zone under several municipal council administration area in Melaka that adopted Act 672 and already involved in program that are prepared by the related agencies of solid waste management and public cleansing services.
