Summary:Reflections on teaching and learning found that many of the students find it difficult to add two fractions with different denominators. Various types of errors can be detected through observation, interviews and analysis of documents such as work sheets, exercise books and diagnostic tests. Therefore, this action research is undertaken to help improve the skills of students in Year 4 to add two fractions with different denominators up to 10. Study participants were guided to master the skills of adding fractions using Compartment. Study participants consisted of 35 pupils of researcher himself. Collecting data using test instruments and analysis of documents. The qualitative data were analyzed descriptively according to survey participants. The study found that interventions used successfully to help all study participants master the skills of addition of fractions with different denominators. Property concrete materials and tools is a major force Compartment. In addition, there are still some weaknesses that can be improved for future research.
