Summary: | The thesis is all about the research on the antimicrobial activity of different fungal extracts. In this research, three fungal strains were used, which included NW12, NW15 and B-20. Then, these fungal strains were grown in three different conditions which are in solid agar, broth static and broth shake medium. Firstly, the entire media needed for each condition were prepared. Then, the fungi mycelium from each strain was aseptically inoculated into each media. The growth of each culture was observed for 14 days. After that, each fungi culture was extracted using appropriate solvent and finally the antimicrobial activity testing by Disc Diffusion Method was performed. The permanent slide for each culture was also prepared for fungi identification. Furthermore, the cultures were also grown on the membrane filtration for DNA fingerprinting. For the literature review, it involved the discussion on the fungi of Trichoderma spp. which focused on the background, existence of biological control agents (BCAs), fungi status, constraints in commercialization, modes of action (mycoparasitism, antibiosis, induction of plant defence mechanism) and the most important, the secondary metabolites of this fungi. |
