The impact of this trend has resulted into higher level of cross border investment. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and trade liberalization have long regarded as an engine of growth for developing countries. Nevertheless, while researches on the impact of FDI and trade liberalization in Nigerian economy have concentrated heavily on the oil sector, there has been a marked neglect of the Nigeria manufacturing sector. This study proposes to focus on Nigerian manufacturing sector, a country that still struggling to diversify her economy. The study employs primary data to gauge information from the domestic firms in the sector. The data were collected through a questionnaire from 200 firms, which cut across various sub-sector of the manufacturing industry across the country and was analyzed through Structural Equation Model (SEM). The result of the study confirms the fact that changes have occurred more in the area of product branding and packaging by the domestic firms. unimas 2016 Thesis http://ir.unimas.my/id/eprint/20930/ http://ir.unimas.my/id/eprint/20930/1/Rasaq%20Akonji%20Danmola%20ft.pdf text en validuser phd doctoral Universiti Malaysia Sarawak Faculty of Economics and Business.
