| Summary: | Sewang dance is an indigenous people’s traditional dance which is still practiced until now. The sewang dance is presented for various functions such as entertainment, celebrating festivals, and medicinal purposes. However, each village has its own dance. Sewang dance or also known as sewang lanok dance is one of a major entertainment among the Orang Asli tribe. The study examines the development of sewang dance in Kampung Parit Gong, Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan. Qualitative methods were used in this study will explain the development of this traditional dance from the spiritual aspect and purpose as well as the factors that led to this change. Results from this study found sewang dance then until now has been through some changes in progress, especially in terms of function and purpose. |
