| Summary: | “Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijk” is a modern literary novel in the history of original Indonesian literature. This narration talks about the issue of traditions prevalent in Minangkabau society and the differences in social backgrounds that prevent marriage between the two different classes of the other race. This research aims to reveal the personality of the story also a storyline, as well as assess the similarities and differences between the two novels, the Arabic novel “Al-Majdoleen” written by Al-Manfalouti and the novel “Tenggeleamnya Kapal Van Der Wijk” written by Hamka. This research is based on the curriculum of the French school, which depends on the relationship of influence between the two literature. Where this research looks at and compare and highlight the similarities and differences between these two versions with accuracy and detail. At the end of research, the research find that Indonesian novel “Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijk” was influenced a lot by the Arabic novel “Majdoleen” in the elements that were searched for. |
