Today, there are lots of Centers of Tahfiz and Higher Learning Centers offered Qiraat subjects. The researcher found that there were differences in students understanding on this subject. This is due to the diversitied teaching and learning methods applied by the institution. Therefore, the teaching and learning method of Qiraat is a problem needs to be resolved. The study aims to review the implementation and effectiveness of teaching and learning methods for qiraat subjects in Maahad Tahfiz Pahang State (MTNP) and Sultan Ismail Petra International Islamic College (KIAS). The study employed qualitative and quantitative research design. The study used the method of field study, comparison, and content analysis. For data collection methods, researchers used interview method, structured observation and questionnaires. A total of 4 lecturers from MTNP and 2 lecturers from KIAS and 40 students from MTNP and KIAS were selected as respondents of this study. Then, the data was analyzed using Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) Version 22.0 software. Descriptive statistics analysist such as frequencies, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were carried out in this study. The results showed lecturers at MTNP and KIAS used multiple techniques and strategies to ensure the students understanding an the effectiveness on the qiraat is at an excellent level. The findings also showed, the students at MTNP more inclined towards Classical Techniques such as talaqqi and musyafahah while students in KIAS tend towards Modern Techniques such as assignments and presentations. In conclusion, the teaching and learning methods applied in MTNP and KIAS were at good level with the engagement of the students in teaching and learning process that took place and make the condition of teaching and learning is at conducive level.
