Summary:This study aimed to analyse the characteristic of linguistic and cultural content of kitab “Durusullughoh al-Arabiyyah „ala Thoriqhatil Haditsah” for the first chapter written by Syaikh Imam Zarkasyi and Syaikh Imam Shubani used for beginner students in Indonesia. The researcher attempt to evaluate the book based on linguistic and evaluational content approach. In order to carry out this research, the researcher would like to use some methodology approach, those are firstly, the characteristic approach for Arabic teaching textbook written by Dr. Rusydi Ahmad Thoimah. Secondly, the teaching curriculum proposed by Kulliyyatu-l Mu‟allimin al-Islamiyyah (KMI) Darussalam Gontor Islamic Boarding School, Gontor Ponorogo, Indonesia. The researcher chooses the content evaluation will be in linguistic and based on the teaching curriculum of the educational level by general characteristic describing. Then, among the outcomes of study there are two points; firstly from the positives points that the book used the method of teaching was called by “at-Thoriqotu-l-Mubasyaroh” was mean direct method by using official arabic language and giving some arabic vocabularies in every chapter and direct learning of Nahwu in the chapter, those are helps students for their Arabic learning as a second language. Secondly from Negatives points that the book doesn’t take attention well about material things and less explanation about tadris-l-Aswath and teaching of Nahwu methods and less preparation of additional text books to helps the students in learning process. At the last, the researcher found that the book still needs to be evaluated from any sides and to complete the important teaching steps in order to reach the aims of study well.
