| Summary: | The focus of this study is on Appearance the efforts of Imam Al-Ruwayānī in the area of Islamic jurisprudence especially his book Bahr Al-Madhhab, as last reliable reference for him in his choices preference in Shafi'i jurisprudence, and he did not collect before the choices of imam Al-Ruwayani regarding to the provision of purity It aims to extract his methodology of jurisprudence for contemporary applications. This study also highlights the opinions of Imam Al-Ruwayānī deduced from his approach by it’s applications in contemporary jurisprudential issues. The method for this study relied on the inductive-analytical approach by selecting Al-Ruwayānī’s resolutions from the book and analyzing the information related to his method of jurisprudence in the provision of ṭahārah (purification). This research used the comparative approach to compare the views of the imam Al-Ruwayānī with others in order to clarify his principles and methods for contemporary issues and applications. This study shows that Imam Al-Ruwayānī often in his jurisprudential stoped at the text of revealation and narrations to opinion except when necessary in reffering to the maṣlaḥah. In his method of jurisprudence, Al-Ruwayānī always stressed on the concept of hardship elimination, and the concept of the origin provision of the objects is purity. All the implementation of the concepts is according to scientific methodologies to avoid hardship in people lives . Al-Ruyani also depend on the rule of sad al-Dharicah (blocking the means) and he is one of the most keen to follow the evidence in direct way to close any door that leads to misguidance. In conclusion, the studies should be countinued in completing the other preferences of Imam al-Ruyani jurisprudence from his book "Bahr al-Madhab" to derive his methodological approach which can contribute to solve the current issues. |
