Description
Summary:Nowadays, E-learning is one of the most progressive fields, not only on an individual level, but also among universities and companies, especially with the rapid evolution of technologies and platforms. However, there are still major challenges in motivating users to adopt the E-learning systems in terms of attractiveness, efficiency, and trust. This research aimed to find the key features, which are suitable to be implemented for the success of the E-learning system. The term "successful" means that the system has an increasing number of active users who trust the system besides being motivated to use the system features continuously. The proposed framework can be the base in the effort to develop successful E-learning websites. To achieve the objectives of this study, a specific methodology has been adopted. This include analysing samples of the most important E-learning websites that could provide programming language courses as a case study. Then, the target audiences' feedbacks were obtained through the questionnaires that were distributed to the students from USIM in determining the correlation between several factors of E-learning motivation. The results showed that the usefulness and ease of use are the main dependent factors of E-learning motivation, security trust, and motivation adjustment, whereas constructivism styles are the main independent factors of E-learning motivation. In addition, this study has proposed a new motivation framework of E-learning system that could be applied to any websites for the learning of programming language. This framework is based on a theoretical foundation of constructivism and security trust that emphasise on the learners, rather than the instructors.
