This dissertation discusses medical methods in treating fever in particular and its cure based on the Malay manuscript MSS 2502. Fever is chosen as a limitation of the study covering the types of fever, prescription treatment in terms of materials and ingredients used, medication manufacturing processes as well as methods in treating fever. This study aims to explain some of the main objectives, (1) transliterate the text of the medical book MSS 2502, (2) categorize the types of diseases in MSS 2502, (3) analyze and formulate fever based on MSS 2502. The study found that the practice of the treatment of fever in Malay communities mostly uses plants related to medicine and nutrition for general health such as garlic, shallots, ginger, turmeric, concoction and so on. These health practices need to be expanded its understanding in the community so that it is not lost in the tide of modernity, we have today. |
