Realising the nature of duties and responsibilities that need to be carried out, the ability to manage emotional intelligence to face the challenge of serving in an organisation based on discipline is very important. The main focus of this study is to identify the level and relationship between job stress and emotional intelligence among Selangor Contingent RMP Traffic personnel. The study respondents comprised 300 traffic personnel of various ranks (Constable to Superintendent Police) currently serving in the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (TEID) of the entire Selangor contingent. The Police Stress Questionnaire (PSQ) was used to measure the levels of job stress while the Goleman Emotional Intelligence inventory was used to measure the emotional intelligence levels. This descriptive analysis used quantitative methods such as t-test, Tukey's post-hoc, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation to test the research hypothesis. The data were analysed and processed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 27.0. The study found that the respondents' job stress and emotional intelligence level were high. The study shows a significant difference in the level of job stress based on the demographic factor of education level. At the same time, the service branch and rank do not show significant differences. The study also did not show a significant difference in the level of emotional intelligence based on the demographic factors of education level, service branch, and rank. The study's findings also show a significant correlation between Organisational stressors and Emotional Intelligence for Intrapersonal. At the same time, there is no significant relationship between the job stress variable for the construct operational stress and emotional intelligence (intrapersonal and interpersonal). In conclusion, the study's findings explain the context in the RMP. This finding is suitable for designing comprehensive interventions in human capital development programs towards enhancing emotional intelligence to reduce statistics misconduct among its citizens as both elements were important in maintaining the predictor harmony police organisation.
