The writing materials are not screened, controlled and given recommendations for publication so as to affect the thoughts and writing patterns of the novel to the author. Thoughts in works that can disturb the faith, syariah and morals are definitely contrary to the faith of Ahl Sunnah Wal Jamaah and the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 (Act 301). This study will look at the role played by the Johor State Fatwa Committee in preventing the distribution and publication of indie novels by focusing on the study of the novel ‘Profesor’ written by Faisal Tehrani. Based on the content analysis of the novel, it is found that the novel 'Profesor' has the characteristics of writing an indie novel. Therefore, the Johor State Fatwa Committee proposes to banned the publication of this novel because it is against the beliefs of Ahl Sunnah Wal Jamaah. |
