Summary: | Levels of thinking skills were introduced with Bloom’s taxonomy and it was known as the objective of education system which is based on questions used in learning and facilitating (PdPc) today. The education system in Malaysia requires students to have Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) to implement moral values and Islamic morals among themselves. However, teachers are facing problems and challenges in inculcating good morals and at the same time having the students achieve flying colours in their academic. Because of that, there are students who are involved in social problems in particular those who achieved low and moderate in academic performance in education. This is due to the lack of connection between element spritual to form a personality in students' academic. Therefore, al-Quran is the main reference for Muslims as guidance to achieve success in the world and hereafter especially in the field of education. Spiritual elements based on the al-Quran should be applied in thinking skills to form student’s personality. Thus, this study intends to review on order thinking skills that exist in the Makiyyah verses using the interrogative “Who” as the sample. The data analysis were conducted by referring to Kitab Tafseer Fi Zilal Al-Quran by Said Qutb and based on the basic learning of Bloom’s taxonomy to achieve the cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills that are found in the Quran. Besides, this study employed the qualitative approach referring to Kitab Tafseer and the data were analyzed using the ATLAS.ti version 8.0 software. The researcher had to classify the levels of thinking skills with the value of spirituality in verse interrogatives "Who". The result of the research finds that the interrogatives “Who” themed the faith to Allah SWT. Spiritual elements should be applied in thinking skills to mould students to be someone with morals and excellent in academics. Apart from that, the finding shows that thinking skills for the interrogative "Who" in al-Quran are the second cognitive level, which is understanding. Then, the interrogative "Who" in the Quran is a question that demands an understanding. Furthermore, this study found that Quranic verses did not classify a certain level from lower until higher level in the process of thinking. Indeed, this study can be referred as a catalyst for further exploration of thinking skills al-Quran influence in Malaysian education. |
