Even though applied uslub provided a lot of information that assist in hadith understanding, however, in some extend it causes confuse to interpret the hadith understanding from kutub shuruh especially to the non-expert who does not have knowledge in hadith studies. Based on this situation, there is need to propose a systematic and simplified approach in explaining the hadith understanding as an addition to the existing uslub that can be benefited by the non-expert. Thus, this research aims to propose an extended uslub in explaining hadith understanding using classification. It is due the significant role of classification in knowledge acquisition process. The researcher adapted “Classification of Knowledge” derived from Imam Al-Ghazali’s perspective as an extended uslub proposed in explaining hadith understanding. Besides that, this research also focuses on hadith related to the sight of Prophet Muhammad PBUH in Sahih Al-Bukhari which currently considered as limitedly explored. Scope of this research is limited to the hadith that containing word “basara” in five selected chapters in Sahih Al-Bukhari. This is a qualitative research that conducted using document and thematic analysis approach. Specific research flow has been proposed as a systematic process to achieve the objective started by identifying the appropriate hadith, analyzing is contextual understanding and ended with explaining its understanding using the “Classification of Knowledge”. Result shows that the understanding of the selected hadith could be explained using “Classification of Knowledge” which involves five fard’ayn and 14 fard kifayah knowledge.
