Salmonella typhimurium and Serratia marcescens by agar-well diffusion assay and microdilution test. The agar-well diffussion assay was carried out to identify the antimicrobial susceptibility. while the microdilution test was done to determine the minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC). Generally, the methanol, ethanol and aqueous extracts of C. asiatica showed antimicrobial activity against all the bacteria tested. The aqueous and ethanol extracts indicated high antimicrobial activity with MIC value of 62.5 mg/ml towards S. typhimurium and E.coli. Whilst, the moderate antimicrobial activity with MIC value of 125 mg/ml showed by aqueous extract towards B. subtilis, S. aureus, S. epidermidis and S. marcescens, methanol extract towards all six bacteria strains tested as well as ethanol extract towards B. surbtilis, S. aureus, S. epidermidis, E. coli and S. marcescens. The aqueous, methanol and ethanol extracts also exhibited a bactericidal effect towards five strains of bacteria, including B. subtilis, S. aureus, E. coli, S. typhimurium and S. marcescens. The MBCIMIC ratio of C. asiatica extracts was less than or equal to 4 (<4) against the five tested bacteria indicated that the bacteria were sensitive towards C. asiatica extract. In combination study, the aqueous and methanol extracts from C. asiatica were combined with Streptomycin sulfate. The synergism effect was only indicated for the combination treatments between each C. asiatica aqueous and methanol extracts with Streptomycin sulfate towards B. subtilis. The alltagonisms effects could be observed only in the combination treatments between C. asiatica aqueous extracts with Streptomycins Sulfate against E. coli. However, the indifferent effects were showed by the combination treatments between C. asiatica methanol extracts with Streptomycins sulfate against E. coli. Generally, all the combination treatments on both bacteria indicated additive and indifferent effects. The majority of the additive and synergism effects could be found Gram positive bacteria (B. .subtilis). while antagonism effect occured on Gram negative bacteria (E. coli).
