An analytical study. The study focused on the issues of syntactic and morphological rules in the Arabic language in the expression of this language ,either poetry or prose texts. Poem is not like prose, it has some rules and meters to be followed among the sixteen meters laid down by the Arab poets. Al-Ilory was among the outstanding men of letters and Yoruba scholars in Nigeria who have carved a niche for themselves in sphere of Arabic and Islamic scholarship. He has enormous literary works in the field of Arabic and Islamic studies. Despite that it was considered that Arabic poem is very difficult to compose, Al-Ilory has numerous poems originally composed by him in pure Arabic language. Based on aforementioned . Al-Ilory tried as much as possible to avoid getting caught in violating the rules of grammar and morphology. The study of the researcher in this subject is an attempt to point out the proficiency of Al-Ilory in the Arabic language both grammatically and morphologically in composing Arabic poem on different themes. The study highlights the apparent how well Al-Ilory apply the rules of syntax and morphology in the poetry. The study discussed the contributions of Al-Ilory to Arabic and Islamic education and his attempts to reform the teaching method in the country (Nigeria) .More so the study summarized briefly some of al-Ilolys prose Arabic books in addition to his numerous themes on Arabic poetry . However the focus of this research is to study these poems based on syntactic and morphological aspects, and drew the attention of scholars of this language to the abilities of poetry and ability to apply the rules in the expression .The researcher cites various examples from the grammarian of the ancient and the modern Arabic books. It is hopeful that this study would be useful to researchers and learners in the field of Arabic studies.
