Summary:This quantitative study discusses the level of awareness of human rights and self-confidence among students of Sultan Qaboos University. The problem of the study is the lack of a culture of human rights in Omani society in general، and students in particular. At the same time، human rights were absent from programs and curricula at all levels of education، as stated by the results of several studies. The objectives of the study; is to diagnose the degree of human rights’ awareness، and also the degree of self-confidence among Sultan Qaboos University students at the Sultanate of Oman. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method. The sample of the study reached (500) students out of the study population of (15) thousand students. The researcher prepared two scales for the study using theoretical literature; The first scale to measure the human rights awareness، which consists of (30) paragraphs divided into three components included three components: emotional، cognitive and skill. The second scale measures the self-confidence among students that consists of (38) paragraphs divided into four components: self-reliance، will and decision-making، social and academic aspects. The validity and reliability of the two scales were confirmed after they were presented to a group of arbitrators، and through the survey study. This study is the first of its kind in the Sultanate، which discusses the level of awareness among university students. It is also an additional fingerprint in the scientific process of the Sultanate of Oman for the specificity of the subject to which it referred. The study reached a set of findings that answered the study's questions, among which: The level of awareness of human rights among students reached a (high) level and the cognitive component reached the highest averages. The level of self-confidence among the students reached (average) level, where the social side came first, the self-reliance area was second, the academic field was third, and finally the decision-making area was fourth. The existence of differences of statistical significance in the cognitive and emotional component for the benefit of females. In the college variable and the economic situation there were no statistically significant differences. The difference between the students' average: acceptable, good, very good, excellent for the excellent. As well as the absence of differences of statistical significance in the academic field depending on the variable economic situation.
