Summary: | This study has aimed to identify the role of school principals in activating the professional teachers community in basic education school in the Sultanate of Oman; The study also aimed to investigate their roles in school development,reform and fulfilment of job satisfaction among school employees.The current study has depended on the descriptive quantitative approach along with questionnaires as a tool for collecting the data.The study society connsisted of 435 headmasters and headmistresses.The researcher has chosen a Convenience Sample depending on Krejcie and Morgan Table.The sample population consist of 200 headmistresses and headmasters from the basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman. The study has revealed in a number of findings summarized in tje following lines: The mean scores of the participants' responses were at a very high level regarding all the statements about the school principal's role in activating professional teachers' community in the school and the teachers' work satisfaction.There were no differences found between the mean scores of the participants' responses about the role of the school principle in activating professional teachers' community and the demographic variables of academic qualification,teachers' years of experience and governorate.However,there were differences found between male and female participants and in favor of females in the mean scores of the participants' responses regarding the role of the school principal in activating professional teachers’ community. There were no differences between the mean scores of the participants’ responses about teachers work satisfaction towards the efficiency of the school principal in fostering learning communities in schools communities in school and the variables of academic qualification, educational states and teachers year of experience,Also there were no differences found at the mean scores between male and female participants in supporting individuals and groups to achieve professional learning communities.Whereas there were differences in the mean scores between males and females and in favour of females regarding enhancing constructive relationships in job environment.There were differences in positive correlation between the role of the school principal with regards to teachers’ job satisfaction.This means that when the role of the school principal in fostering and activating learning communities increases,the level of teachers’ job satisfaction increases,too. |
