description This quantitative study discusses the multiplicity of affiliations and their role in the formation of national identity among university students in the Sultanate of Oman. To analyze the relationship between affiliations and national identity, and to reveal affiliation that has the greatest contribution to raising the level of national identity, as well as identifying statistically significant differences for the variables of affiliations and national identity according to the gender and age variables, through a sample of university students at the bachelor's/ BA level. The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach, the total population of the study was (30804), a stratified random sample of (380) male and female students was selected according to Stephen Thompson's equation. The researcher prepared a questionnaire consisting of (34 paragraphs) divided into two axes: The first is the multiplicity of affiliations with three factors: tribal affiliation, spatial affiliation, and ethnic affiliation. The second axis is the national identity. To verify the validity of the tool, exploratory factor analysis was used, and the researcher conducted the study on a pilot sample to test the tool’s quality and stability by re-testing. (α = 0.01), and the total stability was (0.85) for the multiple affiliations, and (0.86) for the national identity. These values are considered high, which indicates the stability and stability of the study tool, and that it is valid to achieve the purposes of the current study. Statistical methods used: Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple linear regression analysis, multiple analysis of variance (MANOVA). The findings revealed that; There is a direct statistically significant relationship at the level (α≤0.01) between tribal affiliation and national identity, between spatial affiliation and national identity, and between ethnic affiliation and national identity among university students, showed that spatial affiliation is the most contributing affiliation to raising the level of national identity. Tribal affiliation ranked last in raising the level of national identity, while ethnic affiliation ranked second. There were statistically significant differences in tribal and ethnic affiliation according to the gender variable in favor of males, while the results indicated that there were no differences due to the gender variable in spatial affiliation and national identity and indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in all affiliations and national identity. according to the age variable.
