Summary:This study aimed to recognize the reality of the existence of learning organization requirements in government Omani schools. It also aimed to identify differences in schools workers' estimations. The major variables attributed to the learning organization requirements in the schools are gender, function and years of experience. The study further aimed at build a model of the learning organization in order to develop the schools of Oman. To achieve the objectives of this study the descriptive approach was used . The researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of (58) items represent the requirements and characteristics of the learning organization in five areas: leadership, organizational structure, organizational learning and knowledge, technology and technique, and evaluation. the population of the study are members of the administrative and technical bodies and schools teaching staff in the A1 Dakhilia province of the Sultanate of Oman; the samples of the study were (203) members of the administrative and technical staff and (891) participants from the teaching staff. The study concluded that the degree of availability of learning organization requirements in the Omani schools ranged between large and vulnerable; it showed the existence of significant differences at level (0.05) between the averages of the samples' rates. The results further showed the availability of learning organization requirements in the Omani schools is due to the variable of gender in favor of females. The variable of function for the benefit of administrative functions and variable of experience was in favor of medium of experience versus short in the field of organizational structure as well as the medium versus the long experience in the field of technology and technique. Based on these findings the study recommended the need to strengthen and develop the learning organization; to change the Omani schools to learning organization and to provide a set of actions to achieve the intended goals. Due to these results it was recommended to develop a model of the learning organization for Omani schools. The study recommended also the importance of using learning organization introduction in the development of the Omani schools so as to overcome the difficulties that may adversely affect the transformation of Omani schools to learning organizations.
