Summary: | This study aims to develop a method to reduce waste based on the Kaizen method for the development and management of human resources in the Omani Ministry of Education. It aims to identify the manifestations and level of waste in the education sector in the Departments of Human Resources Development and Management in the Ministry of Education in Oman from the point of view of the study sample. It also aims to identify the differences in the level of waste in the education sector in these departments based on the variables (gender, job position, academic qualification, years of experience and district’s location). This study used the descriptive approach to find out the level of waste to reduce waste based on the Kaizen method for the development
and management of human resources in the Omani Ministry of Education. This study used the quantitative and qualitative methodology using two tools: the questionnaire, where the researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of 30 items in three areas of waste: Muda - Mura - Muri. In order to identify the level of waste and improve the organizational situation, a sample of (123) individuals from the study community were selected. The researcher also set an interview instrument to collect information from the opinions and suggestions of the sample to build the proposed scenario. The study concluded important results, such as there is wastage results in the Departments of Human Resources Development and Management in the Ministry of Education which
overall shows the average grade. This is in view of the presence overlapping powers and tasks between the departments and sections in the ministry. The results also show that there were significant differences between the groups of job position levels in all fields of the study, in addition to the absence of significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) in the level of waste due to the gender variable in the overall results of this study. The study concluded with the development of a method to reduce waste based on the Kaizen for the development and management of human resources in the Omani Ministry of Education, including several requirements and components. |
