Summary: | This quantitative study discussed the role and importance of knowledge management and administrative and security leadership in achieving the security objectives of the United Arab Emirates. Therefore, the study aimed at diagnosing the extent to which the Ministry’s employees are familiar with knowledge management, its importance and objectives, discussing the role of security leadership in applying knowledge management to achieve national security, defining the concept of national security and the mechanisms and means of achieving it, and discussing the role of knowledge management and administrative and security leadership in achieving national security. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach, using a questionnaire consisting of 53 items distributed in three factors to collect data in a quantitative manner. A stratified random sample was selected from the study population, which amounted to 300 individuals from the administrative and security leaders and associates. The study sample was chosen by defining the target group, which is employees of different security ranks and job titles. Interviews were conducted with 10 security and police leaders as a qualitative method complementing the quantitative method. Statistical analysis was done through the SPSS program and descriptive analysis was used to extract arithmetic means and deviations. The study followed the theory of administrative knowledge. The study reached several results, the most important of which are: (a) There is a strong positive relationship between knowledge management and security and administrative leadership, which raises the efficiency of security agencies and maintains national security; (b) The existence of a relationship between security sense and knowledge management among police officers and security services; (c) There is a relationship between the use of modern technology and readiness to face security risks and challenges; and (d) There is a high degree of integrated coordination between the Crisis Management Authority and the security services. The results indicated that security was achieved to a distinguished degree. For the fourth year in a row, the UAE topped the countries of the Middle East and North Africa with its constantly decreasing level of crime. According to the Nambio Foundation safety index, The UAE ranked first among the Arab countries and ranked third globally with the lowest crime rates and in terms of safety and security. It ranked first in the Arab world and internationally in indicators of the situation of safety, according to the report by Gallup Institute of Law and International Order. |
