Summary: | The problem of study is that there is a lack of pedagogical and educational practice among science teachers in performing structural investigation skills while teaching science for the fourth grade. This research aimed to reveal the reality of the performance of female teachers for Science of Grade 4in basic learning skills and build a training program to address the shortage. The study also aimed to measure the effectiveness of the training program in the development of teaching knowledge and skills through survey method. The researcher used two methods in this study: descriptive and semi-experimental method. To achieve the objectives of the study, three research tools were prepared: observation card to measure teachers' practice of teaching skills in structural survey, a training program to develop those skills, and a written test to measure the level of knowledge of teachers with investigation skills. The study population included the Grade 4 science female teachers in the Ad Dakhiliah region for the academic year2018/2019 totalling (160) female teachers. and to measure the reality of teachers' practice of surveying skills, the observation card was applied to (100) teachers, of which a sample of the study was selected. Among them, the sample study consisting of (42 female teachers). They were deliberately distributed into two groups, where the number of the experimental group (21) and control group (21). The researcher used the statistical package SPSS program to find out the arithmetic averages and standard deviations. The Cohen effect equation was used to determine the extent of the program 's impact on the growth of knowledge skills and the level of knowledge. The study reached the following results: The weakness of the reality of the performance and practices of science teachers of investigation skills in teaching the Grade 4 in the survey and The performance of the experimental group teachers on the performance of teachers in the control group improved in practicing teaching skills using the method of structural investigation with high performance and Improved knowledge of the pilot group after the program versus before program which was attributable to the training program and This improvement is attributable to the training program. In light of the findings of the study, the researcher suggested a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the adoption of the training program to develop teaching skills in a way of constructive investigation before and during service in the Sultanate of Oman and Malaysia. He also suggested conducting studies similar to the current study and linking it with other variables, and applying them to different science subjects. |
