Dalam kajian ini, Kiambang (Pistia stratiotes) iaitu sejenis tumbuhan akuatik yang telah digunakan secara meluas untuk mengkaji kesan pencemaran pada persekitaran akuatik telah digunakan sebagai model sistem untuk mengkaji kadar penyerapan kuprum dan mengenalpasti gen-gen aruhan kuprum.
