Summary:This study was designed to investigate the relationship between microcredit and women’s empowerment by concentrating on four objectives which are: 1) to profile the women micro-entrepreneurs and characteristics among AIM beneficiaries; 2) to analyse the success factors of women micro entrepreneurs among AIM beneficiaries; 3) to analyse the impact of microcredit on economic empowerment among AIM beneficiaries, and 4) to analyse the relationship between microcredit and women’s empowerment among AIM beneficiaries. This study was conducted in the North of Peninsular Malaysia covering the states of Perlis, Kedah and Pulau Pinang.
