Description
Summary:This dissertation investigates the boundary layer stagnation-point over a shrinking or stretching sheet in the presence of velocity slip and thermal slip. Governing non-linear PDEs are transformed into corresponding non-linear coupled ODEs along with boundary conditions using similarity transformation. Resulting non-linear ODEs are solved numerically using the shooting method and the numerical codes have been developed using software known as Maple. The effects of various emerging parameters such as Prandtl number, Pr, Lewis number, Le, the stretching/shrinking parameter, 6 , Brwonian motion parameter,No,Thermophoresis parameter, Nt, shear stress, r,, , heat flux, q. and mass flux, q.. are investigated graphically on the skin friction coefficient, C, , Iocal Nusselt number,Nu,and local Sherwood number,Sh,. Comparison with previously published results for the skin friction co-cfficient, f'(0). rale of heat transfer, -θ(0) and rate of mass transfer. -'(0) steady-slate case of the present problem is made, and the result are found to be in good agreement. The effects of governing parameter on the skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt number. Iocal Sherwood number and dimensionless velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are described graphically. Furthermore, when slip parameters are applied, it is found that the local Nusselt number increase and decrease as the values of slip parameter increases. For skin friction coefficient, values of solution remain increase as thermal slip increase and velocity slip decrease.
