Slip effect on stagnation-point flow past a permeable quadratically stretching or shrinking sheet

Slip effect on stagnation-point flow past a permeable quadratically stretching or shrinking sheet has been investigated. The governing equations are reduced from system of partial differential equations to system of ordinary differential equations by selecting appropriate variables. The system of or...

The governing equations are reduced from system of partial differential equations to system of ordinary differential equations by selecting appropriate variables. The system of ordinary differential equations are solved numerically by using shooting method built in Maple software for different values of parameters. The results shows dual solutions for shrinking parameter which are upper branch as the first solution and lower branch as the second solution. For stretching case, single solution is obtained. The effects of governing parameters on the skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt number and dimensionless velocity and temperature profiles are described graphically. Skin friction coefficient f'(0) and g'(0) increase as suction increases. For local Nusselt number h(0) decreases as suction increases. Furthermore, when slip parameters are applied. it is found the local Nusselt number increases as the values of slip parameter increases. For skin friction coefficient, values of solutions does not change for both solutions, which is upper and lower branch because slip parameter does not affected the momentum equation. 2018-07 Thesis http://eprints.uthm.edu.my/307/ http://eprints.uthm.edu.my/307/1/24p%20NORBAIZURA%20ISMAIL.pdf text en public http://eprints.uthm.edu.my/307/2/NORBAIZURA%20ISMAIL%20COPYRIGHT%20DECLARATION.pdf text en staffonly http://eprints.uthm.edu.my/307/3/NORBAIZURA%20ISMAIL%20WATERMARK.pdf text en validuser mphil masters Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology
