Summary:This study aimed to determine the attitudes of parents and students to the achievement of Malay language among pupils in Year 5 SJKC in District Batu Pahat, Johor. The study sample consisted of 233 teachers randomly selected from five primary schools in Batu Pahat District, Johor. This study is a quantitative study that uses a questionnaire instrument designed by the researcher and divided into two parts to measure the attitudes of parents and students. The reliability of the questionnaire instrument of the parent part was 0.740 and the pupil part was 0.849. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistical analysis and also inferential statistical analysis using Statistical Package for Social Sciences Version 20 (SPSS). The results of the study showed that the attitudes of students 'parents were at a high level (Mean = 3, N = 233) and students' attitudes were at a moderate level (Mean = 2.0687, N = 233). The results of the study show that there is a positive relationship between parental attitudes and student achievement Malay students (r = 0.027, p = 0.686 and r = 0.605, p = 000). Therefore, it can be concluded that if the attitude of parents and students is high, then the achievement of Malay students will be high. Some suggestions are also discussed.
