Summary:The Towards 21st century, the new generation needs to be equipped with learning skills that include communication skills, 3M skills such as reading, counting and writing skills, science and technology skills and so on. In 21st century learning, teachers act as facilitators in the classroom so that students can learn actively in the learning sessions. However, teachers nowadays face challenges in increasing students' motivation and involvement in learning. This is because the differences of students in terms of personality, knowledge, motivation, background and also learning style have caused difficulties for teachers to motivate and increase student engagement more effectively. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the motivations of teachers and peers on the motivation and engagement of students in primary schools. This study was conducted using a correlation research design involves 364 students from 21 Primary Chinese Schools in Kluang District and respondents were selected via proportional stratified random sampling method. Online questionnaire was distributed for getting information from the samples. Data collected using SPSS software and collected data were analysed using descriptive statistics while inferential statistics were analysed using Pearson correlation. The results of the study have shown that the level of motivation of teachers and peers in primary schools is moderate while the level of motivation and involvement of students in primary schools is high. The results of the study also showed that there was a moderately positive significant relationship between teacher and peer motivation on the motivation and involvement of students in primary schools. This study provides an implication to various parties, especially to primary school students, parents, teachers, school administrators as well as government and non-governmental organizations in order to increase the motivation and involvement of students in primary schools. So that, the student achievement will increase as well as our country's educational aspirations will also be achieved.
