Summary: | The study was conducted to see the accessibility of teaching and learning objectives for the subject of Mathematics implemented through e-learning methods. A quantitative study with a descriptive design (survey) conducted on 170 Mathematics teachers of Sekolah Menengah Harian in the district of Batu Pahat, Johor using a questionnaire instrument constructed through observation and literacy research. The items of the questionnaire were constructed based on six main constructs representing the dependent variables namely the attainability of teaching and learning objectives and each item used a Likert scale of five positive items. The data obtained were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software descriptively to obtain the mode, median and frequency for determining the level of category of each construct that is either LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH. The Chi-Square Independence test was used to determine whether there was a correlation between two variables namely teacher and student technology skills with teacher and student readiness to accept and implement Mathematics e-learning and to see if there was a significant relationship on course adequacy and training obtained by teachers. -teachers with a variety of pedagogy and technology platforms implemented through e-learning methods. The Spearman (Rho) method was used to determine the correlation coefficient (r) to allow the strength of the studied relationship to be determined. The Friedman test was performed to test the study hypotheses. The findings of the study indicate that the mode for the category level of each construct involves only LOW and MEDIUM levels. The results of the Chi-Square Independence Test showed that there was a relationship between the two study variables (p <0.05). Spearman Correlation Analysis (Rho) performed gave the value of coefficients r = 0.683 (first hypothesis) and r = 0.549 (second hypothesis) showed that there is a strong relationship between the study variables. The Friedman test performed gave a value of p (0.000) <a (0.05) indicating that H0 for this study was rejected which led to the conclusion that e-learning has a significant effect on the accessibility of teaching and learning objectives for the subject of Mathematics. Future studies are proposed to use other research approaches and designs such as quasi-experimental qualitative research involving pre and post-tests in order to see the effectiveness of e-learning in students’ achievement. |
