Summary: | The development of education has changed with current technological developments and these brought many innovations in teaching and learning methods. There are many technology games based introduced in the market, but not all games are suitable for student learning. This is because most of the exiting game features are less effective for education, so it is important to choose a game based on the appropriate criteria for education. Therefore, this study was conducted to design the game-based learning with integration of Augmented Reality which named as Kit Pengembara and to examine the effect towards students' academic achievement. In addition, this study also identify students' perceptions toward game-based learning with the integration of Kit Pengembara. The impact of this study was measured using two types of instruments, namely Geography achievement test to measure students’ achievement, while questionnaire were used to measure students' perceptions of the Kit Pengembara in terms of integration of game-based learning and UniteAR applications. The quasi-experimental study was conducted for form one students in a secondary school in the district of Johor Bahru. A total of 21 students were involved in the treatment group and another 21 students were in the control group. Achievement test analysis shows that game-based learning integrated with the Kit Pengembara can improve student achievement. Beside, the results of the study also show that students give a positive perception toward Kit Pengembara after using it in the learning process. In conclusion, this study provide ideas and help teachers to design game-based learning that integrates Reality Augmented technology in teaching and learning activities more effective. |
