Summary: | In the recent years the need of using a single antenna that operates with in different frequency bands is much needed, where it led to the existence of the multi hand antennas. In this project the performance of a triple-frequency monopole antenna for wireless application is presented. The proposed antenna comprises of a microstrip-fed monopole with an additional strips and a partial ground plane with four strips on the opposite side of the substrate. By adding these strips to this monopole, good resonant frequencies for the multi-band application are obtained at 2/2.4/5.8GHz. At a return loss of -lOdB the resonant frequencies 2GHz, 2.4GHz, and 5.8 GHz have covered the band widths of 0.24, 0.46, and 0.08 GHz respectively. A prototype of the proposed antenna had been constructed and experimentally studied. The simulated and measured results where compared to ensure that the proto type antenna will perform effectively when used. The proposed triple-frequency operation covers the range from 1GHz to 6GHz, with good antenna performance characteristic having a return loss less than -lOdB leading to an efficiency of more than 90%. |
