Description
Summary:Close-range Photogrammetry (CRP) grows rapidly in line with the changing and the development of technology in various fields. The application of CRP is a method of measurement, which involves a process of imaging an object using digital camera either metric or non-metric. Both type of cameras have different internal parameters on the stability aspect. Capability study on the usage of CRP in industrial application tested based on the uses of digital cameras, software and measurement accuracy. The uses of digital camera are widespread and it is readily available in various types, models, formats, sensor type and resolution. To obtain accurate and quality results in measurement, a digital camera has to be calibrated. A metric digital camera and two non-metric digital cameras were used and calibrated using a calibration plate, and processed using CRP software. Calibration method used is the self-calibration to obtain the coordinate of the target point on the calibration plate. A part from that the stability of the internal parameters are determined through the process of this calibration. Then the digital cameras and software were tested and the best results were used for carrying out digital image acquisition process of the retro-reflective target placed on the model of Persona car which in a scale of 1:4 and the real Persona car for industrial applications. The produced coordinates and measured distances obtained from the calibrated digital camera were compared with the results obtained through the measurement of geodetic and laser scanning to determine the measurement accuracy. The result shows that the measurement accuracy obtained is less than +0.600mm for both study objects. This study could proves that the CRP method which utilised non-metric digital camera can be employed in the industrial applications.
