Reading interest among children is also decreasing since they prefer to spend more time with computer games compared to reading books that are more beneficial. Nowadays parents tend to give devices such as tablets and smartphones to their children as an easy way of learning. However, children are seen more interested in using the game based applications even though they give more unaware negative effects. A study states that eighty percent of applications in the market are produced by foreign companies and more motivated by profit only. Therefore, iKids Stories application is developed as a medium to encourage children to have interest in reading. iKids Stories is an application of interactive books with Islamic features for iOS platform. This application contains exemplary stories taken from the Qur'an as a reading resource for the users. The methodology used in the development of this application is by using the Prototype Development Model with HTML 5, Adobe Edge and Xcode programming. This application has undergone testing phase in a seminar program and the responses received from users stating that this application is attractive and it facilitates learning and understanding the story written in the Qur'an.
