| Summary: | The main purpose of this research is to identify predicament of students of architecture in their working environment in the studio and the conducive environment especially in the Studio Layout. Furthermore, this research also tries to identify matters that may improve student efficiency to work in studio for better learning environment from lecturers and peer learning between their colleagues. This research is confined to the study of design based students for first year students who are currently taking the Architecture Course in IIUM. This research also will be focusing on the significance of working in the Studio rather than work in their house or in their hostels. This research will study on the Studio Layout and factors affecting the conducive environment in studio and working methods dealing with design tools and furniture’s. This research again will study how improved environment could affect their studio work positively.Finally, this research also are more specific to the description on the layout of working area in the studio especially in the routine of the Architecture student. There are four routine in their daily life. Such as, model making, preparation for presentration boards, sketching, drafting, critic session, and also their Portfolio Day. At the end of the research, there is one proposal about the renovation on the studio it self. It also can be used for the new studio layout for the first year students. This research also can be proposed to the administration for their action. |
