Summary:This study intends to examine the level of safety management practices and its relationship with musculoskeletal disorders at Perodua, Rawang. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a set of questionnaire was adapted and modified from the research instrument by Vinodkumar and Bhasi (2010) and Kuorinka et al. (1987). Questionnaire was given to a representative in the organization, to be distributed to the respondents. Out of 200 distributed questionnaires, only 141 questionnaires were return. The return rate was 70.5 percent. Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16.0. Descriptive analysis results showed that the level of safety management at Perodua tire assembly operator, Rawang is at a high level. While the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders was at a moderate level. Results from Pearson correlation t and multiple regression analysis showed that management commitment is the most influential and significantly correlated with musculoskeletal disorders. Other dimensions of safety management were not significantly correlated with musculoskeletal disorders. Limitations, implications and recommendations are discussed for further research in the field of safety management.
