Summary:The purpose of this study was to identify headmaster communication styles and the commitment teachers' in the district of Kota Tinggi schools. The study is based on six styles of communication style such as controls style, equalizer style, restructuring style, dynamic style, the relief style, and avoidance style. A set of questionnaire containing 37 items distributed to 210 teachers as sample from eight schools in the district of Kota Tinggi. Reliability of the questionnaire was tested using Cronbach Alpha method in which the total value of the whole is 0.79. Data were analyzed in percentage and mean software Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16.0. The results showed that the most dynamic communication style practiced obtained mean of 16.5 (high level), while the least control of communication style practiced with a mean of 11.5 (medium level). Analyzes were also conducted to determine the relationship between communication styles of head teachers and teachers' commitment. Among the recommendations made by this study is that head teachers and teachers to enhance their communication skills by following a number of courses organized either by the Ministry of Education or the State Education Department.
