الملخص:The purpose of the study is to determine the leadership practises of Pengetua Cemerlang of performing daily secondary schools located within the parliamentary constituency of Muar in respect of Authentic Leadership. The study also seeks to determine the level of teachers’ commitment as well as the relationship between authentic leadership and commitment. The quantitative survey method using standardized-item questionnaires was employed in this study. The respondents consisted of 156 teachers chosen at random from five secondary schools under the leadership of Pengetua Cemerlang. The Amalan Kepimpinan Autentik Pengetua survey was used to measure the dimensions of authentic leadership while the Affective, Continuance, and Normative Commitment Scale by LaMastro (2000) was used to measure teachers’ affective commitment in school. Six hypotheses were generated and tested using t-test, one way ANOVA and Spearman’s rho correlation statistical methods. The findings of the study depicted that all principals practiced all four dimensions of authentic leadership at a commendable level where the selfawareness dimension were the ones that were practised the most. It was also found that the level of commitment displayed by teachers in Pengetua Cemerlang schools was at high level. Next, the level of relationship between authentic leadership and commitment among teachers was found moderate and significantly positive.
